SIEUSOIL at the 22nd World Congress of Soil Science

SIEUSOIL was visible at the 22nd World Congress of Soil Science, the main event for scientists / developers / policy-makers / other stakeholders dealing with the soil domain.

The European and Chinese representatives prepared a joint presentation and workshop entitled ‘Developments and Open Challenges of Information Model for Global Soil Information System’ that summarises the main achievements of SIEUSOIL’s WP1. The presentation and workshop emphasise the importance of the SIEUSOIL’s achievements for both (1) the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations and also as (2) the cornerstone of the Global Soil Information System (GloSIS).

Positive feedback has been immediate! SIEUSOIL has become a founding member of a newly established worldwide networking group on soil information modelling. For instance, ISRIC, INRAE and the University of Sydney are members as well.
